Who are we?

The Aurora Music Project was established in March 2004 as a platform to teach children and young people music skills.

Founder, Brian Tucker initiated the project in North East Derbyshire, where he lived at the time after recognising the need for young people to learn real, hands on music skills.

Aurora was set up as a social enterprise, a not for profit organisation and satisfied many of the key areas of social deprivation outlined in the local Council's plan.  Aurora's committee were successful in gaining grant funding to enable the project to go ahead - and it did!

So where are we today?

North Devon! Bideford to be more precise.  The founder moved back to his 'home town' (Appledore) and after some time to settle back in, started to look at bringing Aurora to the young people of North Devon.

It is early days as far as getting the project off the ground in a new area, but rest assured, the wheels are in motion!
